Joinery of the Phaung Daw Oo School

Joinery of the Phaung Daw Oo School

A 15-month training course is currently underway at the joinery of the Phaung Daw Oo School. The training is undertaken by experts from Germany and Myanmar.

The workshop manufactures for the school's own needs – such as the new boys' dormitory.

Tables, beds, chairs, and stools are also wanted elsewhere in Myanmar. Sales to third parties help finance the school.

Joinery of the Phaung Daw Oo School

The Phaung Daw Oo School now offers a broad range of education and training  – kindergarten, primary and secondary school with 10 grades up to university-entrance exams, and vocational training.

The school offers other essential services in addition: dormitories, school meals, school clinic and an orphanage.

Thus, the school is becoming an example of a non-governmental educational institution that can become a role model for development projects in Myanmar and other countries, as well.
